MTC Week 6 - July 14th

Hola mi familia y amigos!

Things here at the MTC are going great!  I've gotten used to being here and there's so much to learn before i enter the mission field.  My companion and i get along great!  We are two totally different people, but because we are here for the same purpose, we don't have problems!

The teachers here are awesome.  Turns out that the investigator i thought was a native speaker is actually one of my teachers!  Not even a native speaker either haha.  Its cool how some of the teachers here choose to speak with the accent that the people on their mission had.  They sound like native speakers it's amazing.  Our teachers are awesome.  They have incredible testimonies and are so in tune with the spirit.  Sometimes they will say/teach things in class that totally answer questions i have.

The language is coming well.  We are still learning really fast, but now it's more important to practice the language in order to learn it.  SYL stands for speak your language and it basically means that we need to speak our mission language as much as possible.  It's awesome when you are able to say a lot more in another language than you thought you could.

Gospel studies are great.  We have incredible speakers a couple times a week and there is so much to learn about the doctrine.  Sometimes people here say that we are actually learning two languages:  Spanish and the language of the spirit (learning how to have and recognize the Holy Ghost in our lives, and the lives of investigators).

As district leader I learned a ton, and now as zone leader i am having even more incredible experiences and opportunities here at the MTC.  My district has amazing people and so does the zone.

I know this work is important and i'm so glad to be here.  It is so important that everyone hears the gospel so that they can recieve blessings and be happier in this life, and after this life.  I've also realized the importance of geneology and temple work and how vital it is for us to perform saving ordinances for those who have already passed on without receiving the fulness of the gospel.

I've learned so much and had so many amazing experiences this far in my mission and i haven't even gotten to the feild yet!  It will be awesome when i finally leave Provo and go to Chile in 4 weeks!

Love you all!
